Shisa Day in Tsuboya

Event

Since 2002, the Tsuboya pottery district has been celebrating “Shisa Day” on April 3 every year, and trying to spread shisa culture nationwide. Various events take place in the area on that day: exhibitions, shisa making workshops, guided tours to show off the district’s many cultural assets, shisa and others. The Tsuboya Yachimun Street Association’s gallery and many of its partner shops offer special discounts on shisa and shisa wares on that day.
