Manko Cherry Blossom Festival

Event

“Manko Cherry Blossom Festival” to be held at Manko Park spread on the banks of Manko Lake (brackish lake), the only lake in Okinawa. The event does not receive any financial assistance from the government. Local businesses and residents volunteer to run the event. Still, the entertainment is abundant, with Eisa performances, a Kachashi (Okinawan dance) tournament, an Uchina-guchi (Okinawan dialect) tournament, a magic show. Even a physician offering health counseling, in a comfortable atmosphere. It should be noted that, in Manko Park, there about 1,000 Hikan cherry trees (Taiwan cherry), and every year in early February. The cherry blossoms cover the park in dark pink. It is a familiar place as a walking and strolling route. Why not enjoy a annual rite of spring?
