Fukushu-en (Chinese garden)

HistoryScenic spots

Fukushu-en (Chinese garden) was completed to commemorate the 10th anniversary of a sister city relatonship between Fukushu city, Fukkenn Province, China with Naha City. It was completed in 1992 to commemorate Naha city’s 70th anniversary as well. The garden was made in a Chinese style, reflecting China’s magnificent and exotic nature and scenic beauty. Kume in Naha city is where the garden is located and is an area where immigrants (36 different family names can be found) first moved from Fukken Province about 600 years ago. It has a deep connection with China.
