Gushi Tideland

Nature

Gushi tideland is a small tideland left between Naha Airport and Senaga Island. Although it is a small area, the characteristics there are of various environments, such as mud tidelands, reed beds, and rocky stretches, just like a miniature garden. You are able to see almost 50 species of crabs and shell fish which inhabited the tideland when the tideland was more widespread. This has become a very important place for the migratory birds such as snipe and plover, as other tidelands in the neighboring areas are disappearing.
