Tourist attraction

Ameku green field (huge tree: Akou)

Nature

This area is a large forest with steep slopes behind Tomari High School in Ameku, close by Ameku Driving School. This area helps to preserve and improve the natural environment in the town and upgrade the view of the town. Different from the park, there are almost no passages inside the forests but giant trees and seldom seen, barely discernible old tombs still exist. Nearby, you are able to see Sengen Temple, Ameku Shrine and an Utaki for the God of fire, located in various places. The aim is to preserve nature untouched by human hands. It might be dangerous to go deep inside of it because of the poisonous snake (habu) which inhabits it.
