This festival has modernized the welcoming ceremony of Chinese envoys and isheld every October. The event’s king and queen are elected by the public. The role of Ryukyu and Chinese mandarins, Chinese envoys and classical dancers are wearing the Ryukyu dynasty era’s costumes and parades on Kokusai Street, accompanied by solemn classical music. This festival is a good opportunity to feel and enjoy the Ryukyu dynasty’s culture.
