“The banquet of traditional art” is held every October with the Shuri Castle festival at the garden of Shuri Castle Park. Admission is free for the garden area. The banquet shows the Ryukyu kingdom era’s Ryukyu dances, traditional performances, and Ryukyu classical music for three days. Ryukyu dance developed as a welcome dance for envoys from the Chinese emperor. The Ryukyu dancers performed in the program, Kagiyadefu (Celebrational dance), Zei, Maenohama (In front of the beach), Yotsutake (four bamboos), Tancha-mae (In front of Tancha), and Kana-yo-tenkawa (milky way).
